I’m already certified by EDI. Why do I need another certification for The Dryvit Settlement?

The Dryvit certification is specific to the settlement. Any differences or changes in protocol must be reviewed to ensure that your inspections meet Dryvit Settlement criteria.

How do I pay for the software and certification?

You can pay by check or credit card. Call Moisture Warranty Corporation at 1-800-400-8679 to place an order.

I was trained by EDI and Stucco Pro and told I was “certified” to do the Dryvit Program. Why do I need to be certified again?

A few individuals did complete this training and there will be no charge for the update to bring the certification current. The training video and certification testing will be supplied at no cost (assuming you pass the test within two attempts).

Will there be too many inspectors and thus, not enough work coming from this program?

The numbers of qualified inspectors will be available to all and each inspector can make that decision on his/her own.

How many homes do you expect to qualify for this program?

We have no way of knowing for sure. It’s reasonable to expect that thousands could qualify for the inspections. Also, the program will increase the number of non-settlement warranty inspections that will be needed. These inspections will also be performed by certified inspectors.

I use a different software program. Why do I need ReportMaker Pro?

To simplify the program and allow all parties to have access to the reports, these reports will be made available on a web site. All reports will need to be standardized (in the same format) and will need to be kept to a minimal file size for transmission. Therefore, only one report format can be accepted.

If I do the initial inspection on the home, will I also be able to do the remediation and 18-month inspection?

Our intention is for the same inspector to continue with the home through this process. If there is a conflict, then another inspector will be assigned.

What type of obligation do I have to notify homeowners of the settlement?

It is recommended that you inform the homeowner of the settlement and tell them where to get further information. www.stuccosettelment.com, 1-800-320-9415)

Can the homeowner request a particular inspector to do the inspection?

No, there is no place in the Dryvit settlement process for the homeowner to make such a request.

A moisture probe inspection was done recently on the home. Can that inspection be used for the claim?

No, the claims process involves performing a new inspection after the claim has been certified as part of the settlement, and an inspection using the special MWC Inspection Protocol must be used.
