A national class action settlement involving Dryvit Systems, Inc., the nation's largest manufacturer of exterior insulation and finish system (EIFS), was approved January 14, 2003. Complete terms and conditions of the settlement can be found at www.stuccosettlement.com.

Moisture Warranty Corporation will act as service provider for this settlement. As service provider, Moisture Warranty Corporation will be responsible for assisting qualified claimants through the process of correcting any moisture problems they may have with their exterior insulation and finish system (EIFS). This includes the completion of a certified moisture inspection, the evaluation and completion of required repairs, and the issuance of the Dryvit Settlement Edition of the MoistureFree Warranty. All inspections, the warranty, and a portion of the repair costs which will be paid for as part of the settlement.

MWC is currently accepting applications from experienced home inspectors interested in becoming a MWC-Certified Inspector. By becoming a MWC-Certified Inspector, you are eligible to inspect and do follow up re-inspections on homes which qualify as Dryvit homes under the proposed settlement agreement. For details on the MWC Certification Program, click on the Becoming MWC Certified tab above.

As a certified MoistureFree Warranty inspector, you will be required to complete three moisture inspections on a Dryvit home. The first inspection, called the initial inspection, will determine the repairs necessary to qualify the home for a MoistureFree Warranty. The second, or remediation inspection, will ensure that the repairs have been completed according to protocol. A third inspection, called the “follow up” inspection, will be performed at 18 months following the issuance of the warranty.
