Moisture
Warranty Corporation’s MoistureFree Warranty
Selected
As Centerpiece Of Proposed
National
Class Action Settlement Involving Dryvit Systems
CHARLOTTE—July
26, 2002 - Moisture Warranty Corporation, a national moisture warranty
company specializing in the protection of
homes from moisture problems, announced that a special version of
its MoistureFree Warranty is the centerpiece of
the proposed national class action settlement involving Dryvit
Systems. Dryvit Systems is the nation’s largest manufacturer of
exterior insulation and finish system (EIFS).
Moisture Warranty Corporation has been
nominated to act as service provider for the proposed national settlement.
As service provider, Moisture Warranty Corporation would be responsible
for assisting qualified claimants through the process of correcting any
moisture problems they may have with their EIFS cladding system. This
includes the completion of a certified moisture inspection, the evaluation
and completion of required repairs, and the issuance of the Dryvit
Settlement Edition of the MoistureFree Warranty. All inspections, the
warranty, and a portion of the repair costs which will be paid for as part
of the settlement.
“Since
its introduction nearly two years ago, the MoistureFree Warranty has been
embraced by homeowners and Realtors seeking protection from
moisture-related problems,” says Chris Burton, president of
Moisture Warranty Corporation.
“Homeowners like the protection the warranty provides against
ineffective repairs, and Realtors like it because it gives buyers the
protection they want when they are considering the purchase of an EIFS
home. Having a warranty helps preserve the value of a home when it is put
on the market, and can substantially reduce the time it takes to sell the
home.”
“MoistureFree
Warranty assures the homeowner that their home’s cladding is dry,”
says Burton. “Our company has the experience and expertise to walk a
customer through the necessary steps to determine if any problems exist
with a home, correctly address those problems, and then put a warranty on
the home to provide future protection against any failures in the system.
Once the home passes inspection and is warranted by our Company,
MoistureFree Warranty will then pay to make the necessary modifications to
assure that the home stays dry in the future. Even homes which have
suffered damage could qualify for the MoistureFree Warranty once
appropriate repairs have been completed.”
MoistureFree
Warranty is backed by the RWC Stucco Warranty Company (RWCSWC). RWCSWC and
its affiliates have 20 years of experience in the home warranty business.
