MoistureFree
Warranty For Stucco Homes Wins
Approval
By Georgia Department Of Insurance
CHARLOTTE—Moisture
Warranty Corporation, a national warranty company specializing in the
protection of stucco homes, announced that it has won approval by the
Georgia Department of Insurance for its MoistureFree Warranty product.
The approval makes MoistureFree Warranty the only
state-approved moisture warranty in Georgia.
“We
are pleased that the Georgia Department of Insurance has given their
approval to the MoistureFree Warranty,” says Chris Burton, president of
Moisture Warranty Corporation. “The Department of Insurance seeks to
protect Georgia consumers from ineffective warranties targeted at stucco
homeowners. MoistureFree Warranty’s acceptance by the state shows the
state has thoroughly evaluated our product and is comfortable with the
protection being offered Georgia homeowners.”
Following
a qualified home moisture inspection and the completion of any repairs
which need to be made to any affected areas, a limited warranty of up to
five years and $150,000 can be issued on qualifying stucco homes. Renewals
can be made indefinitely upon recertification, and the warranty is
automatically transferred to a new homeowner.
The
MoistureFree Warranty is embraced by homeowners and realtors who are
seeking protection from moisture problems. Homeowners like the protection
it provides against ineffective repairs, and Realtors like it because it
gives buyers protection when they are considering the purchase of a stucco
home. People have heard the horror stories about stucco homes. The
difference between having a warranty and not having a warranty can be
thousands of dollars when the home is sold. Often a stucco home is
discounted by tens of thousands of dollars when the home is, in fact,
perfectly dry. Homebuyers will be much more likely to purchase a home
which has been inspected and warranted.
Obtaining
a MoistureFree Warranty requires that a home be tested using the
MoistureFree Warranty inspection protocol. Moisture inspectors and
homeowners can access the testing requirements at www.moisturewarranty.com.
The moisture inspection report is then reviewed by MoistureFree Warranty.
A warranty is issued on the areas of the home which are within accepted
moisture limits. On those areas having elevated moisture levels,
MoistureFree Warranty will define the repairs or modifications which need
to be made, and then work with the homeowner’s chosen repair contractor
to ensure the repairs are made correctly. MoistureFree Warranty does not
actually make the repairs. Once the repairs are made, the home is retested
for moisture in three to six months. If the home tests dry, those areas of
the home are automatically qualified for warranty protection.
“MoistureFree
Warranty assures the homeowner that their home’s cladding is dry, or
leak proof,” says Burton. “It’s designed to give future protection
to homeowners who have a home which is dry now. It protects them from
areas most common to failure, including kickouts, flashings, cracked
caulking, windows, and a host of other problem areas. If the home passes
inspection and is warranted by our Company, MoistureFree Warranty will
then pay to make the necessary modifications to assure that the home stays
dry in the future. Even homes which have suffered damage could qualify for
the MoistureFree Warranty once appropriate repairs have been completed.”
Homeowners
can realize an appraisal or sales price increase between three percent and
16 percent when a MoistureFree Warranty is protecting the home. In
addition, homes with warranty protection can sell up to 50 percent faster
than stucco homes without warranty protection.
MoistureFree
Warranty is backed by the RWC Stucco Warranty Company (RWCSWC). RWCSWC and
its affiliates have nearly 20 years of experience in the home warranty
business. Persons interested
